A downloadable Visual Novel for Windows and macOS

Life After Magic is a 2D visual novel game released on Itch.io, with plans for an upcoming Steam release. The base game was created in a 2-month time period for the SuNoFes Game Jam. Together with a remote team, we released a game with over 62k+ words (approximately 7 hours of playtime), a large cast of characters with optional routes, animated visual effects, and a fully original soundtrack.

I was the primary character designer and CG artist with secondary roles in script-writing and project management.

Character Design Work

The following concept character designs were all produced to work in a tight pipeline system with pixel artist EveeNova. I developed the expression swaps to be discernable even when scaled down into smaller pixel sprites. Directed by the rest of the team, I endeavored to create a cohesive cast based on written and visual moodboard feedback.

CG Art

Drafted CG portraits for critical moments within the main story. Partnered alongside Natalie Arenzon (backgrounds + color assistance) and AvalonForest (picture compression for a pixelated look).
